DC stresses on monitoring power and water supply at review meeting
Jamshedpur: East Singhbhum Deputy Commissioner Amit Kumar on Saturday directed police authorities to initiate action against habituated and notorious criminals under the Crime Control Act in order to effectively control crime in the district.
The DC further said that the 15th day of every month should be observed as Thana Diwas (police station day). On this day, a meeting should be held with various stakeholders of society including peace committee members and other dignitaries of the locality, he said.
Addressing a joint meeting of mining task force, district police and other government departments, he said the mining task force should bust illegal stone crusher units across the district and shut them down immediately. Illegal mining anywhere should be stopped at once, he said.
In view of the soaring mercury levels, the DC asked the drinking water and sanitation department to ensure adequate water supply to all localities.
The DC also directed electricity department officials to supply power without interruption as far as possible. He said a task force should be set up to monitor water and power supply scenario in different parts of the city. He said complaints should be entertained on the telephone number 0657-2371051.
Kumar directed food safety officials to take action against dealers and shopkeepers selling adulterated food items, medicines and addictive substances.
The meeting was also attended by ADC Law and Order Subodh Kumar, ADC Sourabh Kumar, SSP Anoop Birtharay, SP Rural Anuranjan Kispotta, SDO Madhavi Mishra and SDO Ghatsila Arvind Lal.
