BNMH’s Walkathon on Feb 4 to create awareness about cancer

Jamshedpur: Brahmananda Narayana Multispeciality Hospital (BNMH) will be organizing a walkathon to create awareness about cancer for the citizens of Jamshedpur on 4 February 2018. The participants include corporate and media houses, educational institutions, healthcare professionals, government bodies, eminent clubs, and societies, said a press communique issued by the hospital management.

It further stated that the walkathon will be flagged-off by Chief guest Dr. Shukla Mohanty, Vice chancellor, Kolhan University and Aruna Mishra (World Boxing Champion), Dr. Ragini Singh (Social reformer) and team of Doctors from the hospital. Walkathon will start at 6:30 AM from Modi Park, Near JRD tata Sports complex, Bistupur and will follow the route in order of Straight mile road and then converge back at Modi Park.

�We are expecting over 3000 people from all age groups to participate in the walkathon�, said Venkateshwarlu Marapaka, facility Director .

�Cancer is on the rise in India. As per industry reports, more than millions of people suffer from various forms of cancer. We intend to create awareness among masses on the importance of preventive healthcare and significance of early detection through this walkathon�, adds Venkateshwarlu Marapaka.

Cancer specialist Dr. Amit Kumar and Dr. Ashish Kumar will address the participants before the flag-off. The hospital will also be organizing some fun side-events as part of the walkathon.
