BNMH Starts Oncology Clinic

Jamshedpur : Brahmananda Narayana Multispeciality Hospital today announced the commencement of ‘Oncology OPD Services’ at its Jamshedpur facility.

Senior consultants from Narayana Superspeciality Hospital, Howrah will travel to the city every month. Cancer Specialists Dr. Arunansu Kar – Consultant Medical Oncologist, Dr. Rajdeep P Guha – Consultant, Head and Neck Surgery and Dr. Jyotirup Goswami – Radiation Oncologist will be visiting the facility to provide a multidisciplinary approach to cancer care.

The Oncology Clinic will be held every second Friday of the month at the hospital. For further enquires, the hospital has provided a helpline number – 7547 858585.

Dr. Arunansu Kar – Consultant, Medical Oncology from Narayana Superspeciality Hospital Kolkata said, “Jharkhand has a large number of manufacturing companies and mines, which leads to carcinogens in the air. Early diagnosis and initial screening for patients is very essential to combat cancer.”

A team of specialists including Dr. Rajdeep P Guha and Dr. Jyotirup Goswami aim to create awareness on the risk factors and conduct cancer surveillance programs in cancer prone areas of Jharkhand.

A Multidisciplinary team constituting a group of healthcare professionals with the required skills plan the treatment for each patient diagnosed with cancer.

They consider the patient’s requirements for all medical, physical and supportive care needs and provide greater access to the right team of experts, making it truly holistic.

Commenting about the initiative, Rupesh Chaubey – Facility Director at Brahmananda Narayana Multispeciality Hospital, Jamshedpur said, “The objective behind introducing OPD services for cancer care is to be able to provide timely diagnosis and an opportunity for patients to consult with specialists.

The hospital constantly upgrades its services to be able to provide quality treatment and access to specialists.”

He further added, “Through this service, we aim to create awareness about the disease and educate more number of people about early detection as the chances of recovery are better.”

Follow-up consultations and reports can also be shared with the specialists in Kolkata through telemedicine facilities at Brahmananda Narayana Multispeciality Hospital.
