Jamshedpur, June 20: The Lalli’s ruthless blistering batting leaded Blasters rout Supergiants by 42 runs in the final clinching Gurudwara Basti Premier League (GBPL) season-6 cricket title in style. The final was played at the Sakchi Gurudwara ground.
Supergiants elected to field first after winning the toss. Blasters scored handsomely 169 runs in stipulated 12 overs losing only two wickets wherein skipper Lalli scored unbeaten 81 runs off 34 balls well supported by Baljeet Sansoa who scored unbeaten scored 45 runs off 26 balls.
They both did partnership of 133 runs for their team. Deepak scored 23 runs. Lakhan and Munna bagged one wicket each for Supergiants.
Batting second Supergiants scored only 128 runs for the loss of eight wickets. Neeraj was the top scorer for his team scoring 65 runs while Bittu (20), Sonu (18), Basant (12) and Lakhan (10) contributed for their team which proved worthless. Deepak completely destroyed batting lineup of Supergiants taking three wickets while Banty bagged two and Sharan claimed one wicket for Blasters to take their team to victory.
Winning captain Lalli became Man of the series, best batsman and sixer king while Kunal of Supergiants adjudged best bowler of the series. They were awarded with orange and purple cap along with trophies for their outstanding achievement.
The All India Students Federation, President, East India Satnam Singh Gambhir was the chief guest while Harvinder Singh Mantu, President, Sakchi Gurudwara was the guest of honour of the prize distribution ceremony. Social worker Bhagat Singh Raja also gave away the prizes.
