Blaring trumpets to go silent today for second phase of polling

Jamshedpur : Trumpets blaring in high decibel for last several days will have gone silent with the deadline for the election campaigning to the second phase of polling coming to an end tomorrow evening.
Election campaigning in the state intensified today for the second phase of polling on April 17. About 106 candidates are in fray for the second phase of polling.

In the second phase, polling will take place in Giridih, Jamshedpur, Singhbhum, Khunti, Ranchi and Hazaribagh. The third phase polling will take place in Rajmahal, Dumka, Godda and Dhanbad. While the second phase election campaigning is at its peak, the third phase campaigning has also started.

The police reviewed security preparations for the second phase of the three-phase parliamentary polls slated for April 17.

Adequate security arrangements would be in place to inculcate confidence among the electorates, he said urging people to take part in the electoral process without any fear. Six constituencies where polling is slated for April 17 are Giridih, Ranchi, Jamshedpur, Singhbhum, Khunti and Hazaribagh. On April 15 BJP PM candidate Narendra Modi will address election rallies at Hazaribagh and Dhanbad tomorrow. In the second phase 85 lakh voters will exercise their franchise.

The six Lok Sabha seat which will go to poll on April 17 are Jamshedpur, Giridih, Ranchi, Sinbhum, Khuti and Hazaribagh and on these seats the number of candidates who are in fray are 15, 17, 28, 12, 14 And 20 respectively.

The key whose fate will be decided in second phase of Jharkhand poll are Lok Sabha Deputy speake5r Karia Munda fighting on BJP ticket from Jamshedpur, former central Minister and sitting Congtress Ranchi MP Subodh Kant Sahay, Jharkhand Vikas MOrcha=Prajatantrik (JVM-P) jamshedpur sitting MP Ajay Kumar and others.

The other key candidates from Ranchi whose fate will be decided are former Deputy Chief Minister and president of All Jharkhand Students Union (AJSU) Sudesh Mahto, former IPS official and Jharkhand State Cricket Association (JSCA) president Amitabh Chaudhary.
