Jamshedpur: Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha Jamshedpur Mahanagar unit offered tributes to the martyrs of the country by lighting clay lamps (diyas) during the programme ‘Ek Deep Shaheedon Ke Naam’ organized at the Golmuri Police Lines monument on Monday. A large number of party members were present on the occasion.
The chief guest of the occasion was the district BJP president Dinesh Kumar.
He said the sacrifices made by the martyrs were unparalleled since they gave away their lives for the country. The soldiers of India give up all luxuries and comforts of their homes to perform their duty. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been celebrating Deepawali with the Army jawans for the last four years, said Kumar.
District BJYM president Amarjeet Singh Raja said the party workers offered rich tributes to the martyrs by lighting diyas in their names. He said the people should light the first diya in the name of martyrs and remember their sacrifices.
Among others present on the occasion included Pawan Agrawal, Khemlal Choudhary, Probir Chatterjee Rana, Kapil Kumar and Shweta Kumari.
