BJP will not succeed in Jharkhand, how much they try: JMM MLA Kalpana Soren in Jamshedpur

Jamshedpur: Kalpana Soren, MLA from Gandey and wife of Chief Minister Hemant Soren, launched the second day of the Maiyaan Samman Yatra on Friday in Jamshedpur. The yatra began with a tribute and garlanding Nirmal Mahto’s statue at Kadma’s Uliyan.

Kalpana Soren said, “Formation of a separate Jharkhand state was not an easy feat, as many sacrificed their lives for it. I salute all martyrs. Their sacrifices will not be in vain.”

She further accused the BJP of trying to destroy the dreams of Abua Disum Re Abua Raj (a self-governed Jharkhand).

“No matter how hard the opposition tries, they will not succeed here. In the upcoming assembly elections, the blessings of mothers and sisters will once again be with the JMM, and under Hemant Soren’s leadership, the government will be formed,” she said.

Praising the Hemant-led government for its efforts towards women’s empowerment, she mentioned the contributions of  Minister of Women and Child Development and Social Security Baby Devi. The Jharkhand chief minister’s Maiyaan Scheme, under which women aged 18 to 50 are provided Rs 1,000 per month, was highlighted as a significant initiative for empowering women and making them self-reliant.

She criticized the BJP for claiming that they have never prioritized the empowerment of women and only aim to mislead the public and retain power.

The Maiyaan Samman Yatra convoy was warmly welcomed by JMM women workers and leaders at Mango Khudiram Bose Roundabout, where they garlanded Kalpana Soren and showered flowers on the convoy. The journey then moved towards Dimna Chowk, where JMM’s Mango Nagar Committee and members of the tribal and native communities also welcomed the leaders. Kalpana Soren, along with Baby Devi and other leaders, paid tribute to the statue of Baba Tilka Manjhi.
