BJP trying to smother democracy: Babulal

Ranchi: Chief of JVM (P) Babulal Marandi has said that power has gone into the head of BJP which is trying to smother democracy not only in Jharkhand but also in the country. He was talking to the media after high-level party meeting held today in Ranchi.

Babulal Marandi alleged that the State BJP is trying to break the opposition parties to strengthen its position in the assembly through indulging in horse-trading. The BJP is doing the politics of money and power and lost its principles, he commented.

Marandi said that the BJP coalition has got full majority this assembly election but instead of initiating development activities that party devoted all its energy to break opposition parties.

The former chief minister Marandi further said that JVM (P) would meet the governor Syed Ahmed on February 10 and put forth demand of inquiry in horse-trading by a high-court judge.

He said that the party observe black day all over Jharkhand on February 11. “I would request the President of India to promulgate strict law against to stop horse-trading activities,” he said.

Marandi said that JVM (P) has suspended four of its legislators from primary membership of the party on charge of indulging in anti-party activities.
