They had preferred to be freedom fighters over other pursuits. We are enjoying the fruits of freedom solely because of the freedom fighters. The air of freedom that we are enjoying post independence is their gift to us.”

He said that freedom had been attained through years of struggle and innumerable sacrifices. “On the 75th anniversary of independence, it is my appeal to the people to celebrate Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav by installing the national flag in every home because our motto as always been ‘nation is first.’ This is the feeling for us to imbibe.”

BJP Mahanagar President, Gunjan Yadav, while expressing his happiness over the enthusiasm shown by the people for the Tiranga Yatra, said that the patriots who sacrificed their lives to liberate the country and those who maintained 24 hour vigil at India’s borders were the bravehearts to whom the Tiranga Yatra was dedicated to. “The sacrifices of our freedom fighters and the defense personnel who remain awake to ensure for us our peaceful sleep, should never be forgotten. This Tiranga Yatra is homage to martyrs and freedom fighters and to the defense personnel who make sure that our freedom remains intact and unscathed.”
