BJP protests Mughal Garden signboard in Jubilee Park

Jamshedpur, Oct 28: The BJP has condemned the installation of a board mentioning Mughal Garden in Jubilee Park by the Tata Management. Describing it as sad, BJP Jamshedpur Mahanagar President Gunjan Yadav said, “Jamshedpur came into existence more than 100 years ago. Suddenly naming the Garden after foreign invaders at that place where peace loving people and tribal brothers live is an insult to the people of this city and state,” and added, “The Mughals came from outside and oppressed us and here we are glorifying them by naming the garden after them. This is not acceptable to the citizens.”

Gunjan said that it was wrong to name a garden that is sanctified by nature, after a particular community or race at the urging of someone with an eye on the vote bank. He said that BJP was strongly opposed to the move to name the garden after the Mughals. “Let the Tata management name the Park after some eminent personality of the city or a freedom fighter,” demanded the BJP Mahanagar president.
