Jamshedpur, July 11: BJP workers of Jamshedpur West will plant 5,000 saplings in the area extending from Hotel City Inn to Sun City on July 31, the last day of the �Green Month� celebration in the state.
This was decided during a meeting on BJP workers at Olidih on Monday. Speakers at the event said state food and civil supplies minister and MLA Saryu Rai had directed the party workers to celebrate Van Mahotsav and the plantation drive as a part of the celebrations.
They added that BJP wants to save water, land and forest and wants to plant as many trees possible across the state.
BJP leader Vikas Singh said the plantation drive will help free government land from land mafia help to turn them into green land.
Ram Singh Munda, Vikas Singh, Rajesh Sahu, Nityanand Sinha, Ashok Chauhan, Kanhaiya Ojha, Sanjay Singh, Ashok Singh, Uma shankar Mandal, Durga and others were present at the meeting.
