Jamshedpur: District BJP leaders and supporters burnt an effigy of the grand alliance of opposition parties at Sakchi roundabout on Thursday to protest against their efforts to hinder proceedings in the Jharkhand Assembly.
They alleged that the opposition parties were trying to disrupt the daily proceedings in the Assembly on serious and important issues in the name of protest.
District BJP president Dinesh Kumar said the opposition parties were not allowing the Assembly to run by raising non-issues. In the absence of real issues, the opposition leaders are trying to invent fake issues, he said.
Kumar said the opposition parties were frustrated by the speedy development taking place in the state. He said the Raghubar Das government had earned huge support and appreciation of the people through development works and progressive policies.
Among others present during the protest included Manoj Kumar Singh, Mithilesh Singh Yadav, Khemlal Choudhary, Chandrashekhar Mishra, Nandjee Prasad and Bari Murmu.
