BJP leaders allege larger conspiracy in petrol bomb attack on RSS office in Ranchi

New Delhi (IANS): Union Minister of State for Defence Sanjay Seth said that the petrol bomb attack on a Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) office in Ranchi on Wednesday pointed toward a larger conspiracy.

Speaking on the incident, Seth said, “Two persons attacked the main RSS office at around 12:36 a.m. First, they threw a petrol bomb, followed by a second one. They used a petrol bomb, not a normal bomb, made with gelatin-like material that causes fire on impact…”

He added that the attackers covered their faces and hurled two petrol bombs at the premises. According to Seth, 18 RSS pracharaks were staying inside the office at the time.

“The office housed 18 pracharaks inside. If the fire had spread and engulfed nearby vehicles, it could have caused a major accident. The attackers pulled off this audacious act at a time when people often gather nearby to watch football matches during the summer season. The attackers arrived in another vehicle. The manner in which they executed the attack points towards a larger conspiracy,” he said.

Seth stated that he spoke with the Director General of Police and the Deputy Commissioner, urging them to conduct a thorough investigation and bring the facts before the public at the earliest.

“This is no ordinary incident. If the fire had spread, it could have disturbed the peace. However, we will not allow anyone to disturb Ranchi at any cost,” he added.

BJP MLA C. P. Singh also described the incident as suspicious and indicative of a broader plot. He said, “The RSS has run its state headquarters in Jharkhand from this Nivaranpur office for many years. The petrol bomb attack on the office appears to be part of a larger conspiracy. Fortunately, we have exposed this conspiracy…”

Former Union Minister Arjun Munda also condemned the attack. In a post on X, he called the incident “extremely unfortunate and condemnable” and warned that such acts weaken social harmony, peace, and democratic values.

Commenting on the attack, Jharkhand BJP president Aditya Sahu said, “We have been continuously saying that criminals run the government in this state. And right under the nose of the capital, in a residential area, miscreants attacked an RSS office with petrol bombs…”

According to police, two unidentified miscreants allegedly hurled petrol bombs at the RSS office in Ranchi’s Nivaranpur area late on Tuesday night. Fortunately, the crude explosives fell short of the office premises, preventing any injuries or property damage. CCTV cameras captured the entire incident, and police are currently investigating the matter.
