BJP leader urges electricity department to go cashless

Jamshedpur, Dec. 31: The electricity department situated at Sankosai Road No. 1 in Mango Dimna Road is reeling under deluge of problems.

The consumers visiting the office to pay the bill face a lot of issues. For diagnosis of the problems, BJP leader Priti Sinha met electricity department’s general manager Subhash Singh and submitted a memorandum highlighting the issues faced by the consumers.

On the occasion Priti Sinha said, there is no separate counter for senior citizens and ladies which makes them stand for hours to pay the bill.

Due to small size of the office, the situation gets worse during summer and rainy season.

She further informed that there is no drinking water facility at the office. General Manager Singh listened to all the issues raised and assured to overcome all as early as possible. GM also said that they will think over of shifting the office to a bigger surrounding.

At the event BJP leader Priti Sinha urged the GM to provide facility for online transaction of bill. Large queues of people at the electricity department for paying the bill can be shortened through online payment.

She further informed that when government is pushing for cashless transaction, electricity department should also provide this facility.

GM said that soon software will be updated and a card swipe machine will be installed for cashless transaction.
