Jamshedpur: District general secretary of Bharatiya Janata Party Anil Modi here on Friday demanded that the hike in admission fee at Tata Main Hospital be revoked. He said the East Singhbhum district administration should intervene and take steps in the larger interest of patients. He said earlier Rs 5000 was charged as admission fee. But now Rs 20,000 is being charged for admission, he said.
Modi said TMH was a major hospital and a source of last hope for critical and seriously ill patients of Kolhan. He said many poor and underprivileged patients will not be able to undergo treatment at the hospital. He said the hospital management should take measures to reduce the burden on patients by withdrawing its decision to increase the admission fee.
