BJP leader Kunal Sarangi meets Central health minister on poor state of Ayushman implementation

Jamshedpur, September 7: Jharkhand BJP spokesperson and former MLA Kunal Sarangi met Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya in New Delhi on Wednesday to take special cognizance of the pathetic condition of the Ayushman scheme in the state of Jharkhand, the plight of MGM Hospital and the acute shortage of health workers.

He urged the Central minister to pay special attention to the implementation of the ambitious Ayushman scheme of the Centre. A large number of private hospitals across the state have refused to treat all diseases under the Ayushman scheme as the government is not clearing their dues.

On this, the Health Minister inquired about the actual situation from his secretary. The Secretary informed that the entire amount has been paid by the Central Government along with premium to the insurance company operating in the State. The amount has to be paid to the hospitals from the state level.

The Health Minister apprised that if all the private hospitals whose amount is due or the Indian Medical Association branch of the state give written information about it with full details to the Union Health Ministry, then definitely they would check and make sure that the state government is paid in advance to ensure their payment.

Kunal drew the attention of the minister to the acute shortage of doctors and health workers in the state. Apart from this, he drew attention to the death of math teacher Ujjwal Guin, resident of Ghatshila, due to lack of treatment due to departmental apathy at the biggest government hospital in Kolhan, on the day of Teacher’s Day.

He has demanded direct initiative of the Central Government on such incidents happening continuously in MGM Hospital. The Union Health Minister said that he will soon review all these subjects with the departmental officers of the state.
