According to police, the assailants were identified as Vikash Tiwary and Tezu Singh, both residents of Daiguttu in Mango.
It is worth mentioning here that Chotu Pandit was named in the Mango riots case. Recently, the State Food and Civil Supplies minister Saryu Rai had been to the jail to meet Pandit.
BJP activists had protested the arrest of Chotu Pandit and took to the streets against the district police administration demanding his release.
