BJP launches on cashless transactions campaign, swipe machines displayed at camp

Jamshedpur : Following Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s call for a cashless society, Bharatiya Janta Party’s East Singhbhum unit on Wednesday embarked on a campaign on cashless transactions.

The party workers organised a camp at the Sakchi roundabout to spread awareness among the public about the benefits of digital transactions. Among others the camp was attended by district BJP president Dinesh Kumar and BJP state spokesperson Rajesh Shukla.

With opposition parties criticising the Centre for its decision to demonetise currency notes of Rs 1000 and Rs 500, citing the severe inconvenience caused to people across the country, BJP leaders started the campaign to motivate the common people to indulge in cashless transaction.

The BJP leaders and activists present during the campaign which began at 11 am and continued till 3 pm motivated common people to indulge in cashless transaction. Swipe machines were displayed at the camp and the methods of using them were explained to the passers-by.

Addressing the gathering at the camp Shukla said, ” Our initiative’s objective is to spread greater awareness among residents of the city about the importance and benefits of cashless transactions. We will target people from all backgrounds in the coming days. Our aim is to reduce the people’s dependence on cash. The awareness campaign will be undertaken in block and booth levels.”

BJP district president Dinesh Kumar said the efforts of the party will be towards a cashless society which will automatically help to eliminate corruption to a great extent.

“We want to motivate people to use cashless transaction. We will also involve experts and bank officials in spreading awareness on cashless mode of transactions by using debit and credit cards and swipe machines. Cashless transaction will help the country’s economy in the long run,” added Kumar.

During the awareness campaign, members of BJP Yuva Morcha requested youngsters to educate the elderly people about the easy and convenient mode of cashless transactions through smartphones.

“ As per the plans, we will target people from all backgrounds in the coming days. Our aim is to reduce the people’s dependence on cash. I think everyone who have technical knowhow must help other to move towards a cashless society which will automatically help to eliminate corruption to a great extent.

Cashless transaction will also help the country’s economy in the long run,” said a worker.
