Jamshedpur, June 22: The 71st death anniversary of Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee, the founder president of Bharatiya Jana Sangh and ardent nationalist, was commemorated as Balidan Diwas by the BJP Jamshedpur Mahanagar. The district and mandal-level events honored Dr. Mukherjee’s legacy and contributions to the nation.
The main event, held at the District BJP office in Sakchi, was presided over by Mahanagar President Sudhanshu Ojha. The program saw senior leaders and party workers, including former MLA Menaka Sardar, paying floral tributes to Dr. Mukherjee’s portrait. District President Sudhanshu Ojha, former district presidents, state working committee members, and workers remembered Dr. Mukherjee’s sacrifice and pledged to follow the path he had shown. Slogans such as ‘Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Amar Rahe,’ ‘Jahan hue balidan Mukherjee, who Kashmir hamara hai,’ and ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai’ echoed through the event.

Former MLA Menaka Sardar emphasized Dr. Mukherjee’s vision to abolish Article 370 and 35A for the development of Jammu and Kashmir, encapsulated in his slogan ‘Ek desh mein Do Vidhan, Do Nishan, Do Pradhan nahi chalenge.’ She praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi for realizing Dr. Mukherjee’s dream by implementing one nation, one constitution, thus unifying Jammu and Kashmir with the rest of India.
Sudhanshu Ojha, BJP Jamshedpur Mahanagar President, highlighted Dr. Mukherjee’s dedication to serving the country. He recounted Dr. Mukherjee’s life journey, noting his unwavering willpower to address national issues without seeking any position of power. Ojha urged everyone to draw inspiration from Dr. Mukherjee’s ideals, prioritizing the nation over personal interests. He reaffirmed that every BJP worker is committed to advancing India’s glory by adhering to Dr. Mukherjee’s vision.

Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee’s Balidan Diwas was also observed with reverence across all 28 mandals of Jamshedpur Mahanagar. At various mandal offices and booths, BJP workers led by Mandal Presidents paid floral tributes and pledged to uphold Dr. Mukherjee’s principles.
Prominent attendees at the district office program included former MLA Menaka Sardar, former district president Devendra Singh, Abhay Singh, Chandrashekhar Mishra, Rambabu Tiwari, Rajkumar Srivastava, Dinesh Kumar, Gunjan Yadav, former state spokesperson Rajesh Kumar Shukla, Rita Mishra, Kulwant Singh Bunty, Rajan Singh, Manoj Kumar Singh, and other dedicated workers.
