Jamshedpur: A delegation of Bharatiya Janata Party leaders led by former BJP state president Dineshanand Goswami met SSP Anoop T Mathew on Wednesday to seek speedy police action against the culprits in connection with the recent assault on ABVP members in Baharagora College.
Goswami alleged that certain anti-social elements had assaulted the ABVP members on the college premises. He said the local police had taken no action after the incident which made their intentions suspicious. He also alleged that Chakulia police had lodged FIR against several innocent people before Durga Puja. He said the allegations against these persons were fabricated and meant to harass them.
The SSP assured the BJP delegation of taking prompt action in connection with their complaints. He said senior police officials would be entrusted with the task of conducting a probe into the said incidents.
Among those present during the meeting included MLA Laxman Tudu, Saroj Mahapatra, Dinesh Kumar, Chandrashekhar Mishra, Nandjee Prasad, Dinesh Sharma and Rajeev Kumar.
