BJP delegation meets Mango Municipal Corporation official, demands garbage clearance

Jamshedpur, July 8: The piles of garbage dominating almost all localities in Mango have become serious health hazards for denizens and the concern, especially with the onset of the monsoons led the Mango and Azadnagar units of the BJP to meet the Executive Officer of the Mango Municipal Corporation Rajendra Gupta in a delegation demanding immediate removal of garbage strewn in piles all around residential colonies. Gupta assured the BJP joint delegation that cleaning and sanitation work would be sped up.

As per directives of Jharkhand Minister Saryu Roy, a cleanliness survey committee has been formed which takes weekly stock of cleanliness in residential and commercial areas including market places. The committee has however complained that during such surveys all that have been found are garbage heaps in colonies as well as on roadsides.

Md Nisar Ahmad, a member of the delegation said, �The garbage vats remain unattended for weeks. Garbage is dumped in the midst of residential colonies. Even the roadsides are swamped with garbage. Even after repeated urgings the contractors responsible for cleaning the garbage play truant for weeks on end. The people have a right to clean Mango and healthy life and the BJP is determined to acquire for them this right.�

The BJP joint delegation that met the Mango Municipal Corporation Executive Officer included Md Nisar Ahmad, Rajesh Sahu, Tanvir Hassan, Shahbaz Khan, Shah Alam, Amjad Khan, Lala Joshi, Vijay Soy, Sanjay Singh, Vicky Tarwe and others.

Another BJP delegation of the party�s Ulidih unit also met the Executive Officer of Mango Municipal Corporation (MMC) and in pursuance of the cleaning drive, had a detailed discussion with him on the unhygienic conditions prevailing in the area.

The president of the BJP Ulidih unit Amrendra Paswan informed Gupta that the waste cleaned out from clogged drains were kept by their sides. �After a few days when this waste dries up, it falls back into the drains and once again the drains get clogged,� Paswan told Gupta.

The MMC official took note of the matter and directed the garbage removal contractor present to clear the waste within two days in Ulidih. He also urged the BJP delegation that while surveying their area, they should take along, apart from the garbage removal contractor concerned, a few cleaning staff so that wherever such waste was found, it could be removed immediately. The contractor was also instructed to sprinkle bleaching powder after cleaning the drains.

The delegation included Pravin Singh, Rakesh Singh Lodhi, Sandip Sharma and others.
