Jamshedpur: A BJP delegation today met DC Amit Kumar at his residential office and demanded that the eviction notice served on the residents of Krishnanagar Basti for the purpose of laying the third railway line.
The BJP delegation led by the party’s district president Dinesh Kumar, demanded that the administration should ensure that minimum number of the Basti residents are affected in the eviction drive at Krishnanagar Basti.
As per administrative directives, 257 tenements were to be razed at Krishnanagar Basti in Jojobeda to pave the way for laying rail tracks under the third line project of the railways. However, at the behest of the BJP, the revised list was reduced to 57 dwellings. The BJP delegation demanded that families of the 57 houses to be evicted from the Basti should be provided alternate residences in homes under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojna.
The delegation agreed that development work was necessary but not at the cost of causing inconvenience to people. The delegation leader Dinesh Kumar stated that the administration and the government should look into the humanitarian aspects while drawing up development schemes.
Pointing out incongruities in the list prepared by the administration, the delegation urged the DC to make necessary rectification. The DC assured to look into the matter sympathetically.
The BJP delegation included Pawan Agrawal, Rambabu Tiwary, Chandrashekhar Mishra, Khemlal Chowdhary, Mithilesh Singh Yadav, Sanjiv Singh, Bhupendra Singh, Pappu Mishra, Dilip Kumar, Krishna Yadav, Ranjit Pandey and many residents of Krishnanagar Basti.
