BJP to contest on all 81 Assembly seats: Raghuvar

Jamshedpur: Bharatiya Janata Party leader and MLA of Jamshedpur East Raghuvar Das today said the party would be fielding its candidates on all 81 seats of the state in the Assembly elections.

He said the party was fully prepared for the elections. He said speculations about BJP joining hands with All Jharkhand Students Union (AJSU) were merely rumours.

He said the party was ready to win the elections to form a government in the state with full majority.

Das, speaking about partys poll preparations and the state of development in Jharkhand, said 14 years had passed to the formation of the state, but still development had not taken place as per the expectations of the people.

One major reason for the underdevelopment of the state is the lack of full majority with any government. Now the BJP has decided to contest the Assembly elections on all seats, said Das.

Asked about the issue of giving tickets to candidates, Das said the decision in this regard would be taken by the election conduct committee formed for the purpose.

Das, asked if he was being made the state BJP president, said he would be pleased to take up the responsibility though he was not in the race.
