Jamshedpur: Former Chief Minister and Jharkhand Vikas Morcha president Babulal Marandi today held the former state governments led by Bharatiya Janata Party and Madhu Koda and the present government led by Jharkhand Mukti Morcha�s Hemant Soren responsible for the �miserable condition� of Jharkhand State Electricity Board. He also demanded a judicial probe into the allotment of franchise to private companies for electricity supply in Ranchi, Jamshedpur and other cities of the state.
Marandi alleged that the leaders of various political parties have been robbing the JSEB since the formation of the state on 15th November 2000.
�When I tried to stop the rampant loot and corruption, my government was demolished through a conspiracy. The present situation is the result of corrupt leaders of BJP and other parties,� said Marandi.
Marandi further said, �The BJP had prepared to literally sell the electricity board. This is why I resigned from the government on moral grounds. Later, Arjun Munda, Madhu Koda, Sibu Soren and Hemant Soren started giving franchise to private companies without tender. As a result, the Board has suffered huge losses so far.�
Marandi said the JVM had decided to stage dharna before the offices of all seven general managers of the state electricity board on 11th and 12th June to demand a judicial probe into the allotment of work to private companies without tender in the name of reforming the situation of electricity supply in the state and helping the electricity Board tide over huge losses.
