Jamshedpur, Feb 5: The officials and members of Bharatiya Janata Morcha (BJM) staged a protest at the office of the Mango Municipal Corporation (MMC) against builder Chandan Mittal on Friday. The BJM protesters stated that builder Chandan Mittal had constructed an apartment in Mahavir Colony that had led to the accumulation of dirty water and garbage thereby creating a threat of waterborne diseases. They accused that due to Mittal’s construction, putrid water and garbage was spreading foul odor in the entire locality.
They accused the MMC executive officer of inaction in spite of being pointed out about the unhygienic condition prevailing due to the accumulation of waste water on several occasions. BJM district president Subodh Srivastav stated that garbage was not being lifted regularly by MMC and large drains with accumulated garbage were uncovered. Mosquitoes had become a menace in the Mango area and yet, Srivastav said, the MMC authorities remained unmoved. He also accused the builder of building an apartment on encroached land area leading to the prevalence of unhygienic conditions in Mahavir Colony. “We have resorted to protests to make people aware of the prevalent problems and health hazards and to seek immediate solutions to all these ills.”
Among those who participated in the protest were Ajay Sinha, Manoj Singh Ujjain, Kulvinder Singh Pannu, Bandana Namta, Rajesh Jha, Vikas Gupta, Chandrashekhar Rao and many others.
