Jamshedpur, September 8: Bharatiya Jantantra Morcha (BJM) district president Subodh Srivastava has challenged Congress leaders, including Health Minister Banna Gupta and former MP Dr Ajoy Kumar to clarify their stance on Chief Minister Hemant Soren’s recent remarks during the monsoon session of the Assembly. The Chief Minister had controversially compared local residents of Jamshedpur, Ranchi, Bokaro, and other metropolitan areas to Bangladeshi infiltrators. Srivastava accused the Chief Minister of attempting to humiliate the Bihari community and questioned why prominent Congress leaders remained silent on the issue. He urged them to declare whether they endorsed the Chief Minister’s views and also considered Jamshedpur residents as intruders. Srivastava highlighted Jamshedpur’s identity as ‘Mini India,’ where people from various regions had contributed to its growth. He warned that if the Congress leaders did not clarify their position, BJM would expose their double standards through public meetings in the city.
