Jamshedpur, April 26: Bharatiya Jantantra Morcha (BJM) District Secretary, Rajesh Jha issued a press statement in which he decried Jharkhand Health Minister Banna Gupta’s filing of a defamation suit against Jamshedpur East MLA Saryu Roy in Jamshedpur CJM Court. Jha contended in his press release that Jharkhand Health Minister Banna Gupta was scared at the prospect of being removed from his ministerial post. The Minister and his associates were weary of the charges against the Minister that their deeds had come under the spotlight and that action could be taken against them at any point of time, was mentioned in the press statement. The BJM Secretary mentioned in the release, “They (Banna Gupta and associates) have very well understood that their misappropriation of incentive amount for health workers had been caught and action against them can be taken any time. To cover their crimes and to mislead the public, they filed a defamation case against Saryu Roy in the court” and challenged the Jharkhand Minister by stating, “Banna Ji should inform what wrong accusations had been made by Saryu Roy against him.”

Rajesh Jha accused Banna Gupta of passing orders of payment to 59 personnel of his department and himself from the COVID incentive account wrongly to their individual bank accounts with the intent of ‘looting the government funds.’

In the press communiqué Rajesh Jha stated, “The Health Minister will be proved guilty for misappropriation of government funds and would receive the punishment for his misdeed.”
