BIT Mesra Students donate 13 lakhs for Kashmir flood

Ranchi: BIT Mesra Chancellor MK Mishra today met chief minister Raghuvar Das and handed over a cheque of Rs 13.74 lakhs to Prime Minister Relief Fund for Jammu-Kashmir flood relief.

On the occasion Mishra said that the fund had been raised by the students of BIT Mesra. Teaching and non-teaching staff of the institute have also contributed a day�s salary for the noble cause.

The CM spoke highly about the initiative to offer relief fund for the flood victims. He said that BIT Mesra has created a benchmark in the sphere of higher education in Jharkhand.

He expressed the hope that BIT Mesra would also contribute to realize government�s dream to enhance the standards of higher education in the State.
