Ranchi, Aug 4: The Department of Management Studies at Birla Institute of Technology (BIT) Mesra welcomed the new batch of MBA, IMBA, and BHMCT students for the academic session 2025–26 with a comprehensive orientation program titled ‘Udgam’25. Held on August 4 at the institute’s CAT Hall, the event aimed to familiarize students with the academic ethos, institutional values, and campus life.
The program commenced with a traditional welcome, ceremonial lamp lighting, and a video presentation of the BIT prayer. Dr. Shraddha Shivani, Dean (Alumni and International Relations) and Head of Department, delivered the welcome address, highlighting BIT’s legacy and the importance of management education in today’s global context. “Our alumni network is a testament to the impact our students create worldwide,” she said.
Senior faculty members shared their insights with the newcomers. Dr. S. S. Solanki, Dean (Postgraduate Studies), emphasized academic discipline, while Dr. Bhaskar Karna, Dean (Student Welfare), encouraged students to maintain a balance between academic and personal life. A video presentation showcased BIT Mesra’s infrastructure and academic excellence. Dr. Anand P. Sinha elaborated on the institute’s mission rooted in innovation, ethics, and leadership. Dr. D. K. Chand introduced the placement cell, and Amreek Kundu explained the academic structure and assessment methods. Dr. S. P. Dash also briefed students on the Internal Complaints Committee (ICC), underlining the institute’s commitment to inclusivity and safety.
Post-lunch, students were introduced to various student-led clubs and interdisciplinary initiatives. The event concluded with final remarks and the national anthem, laying a strong foundation for the students’ journey ahead.
