Ranchi, May 2: The Department of Space Engineering and Rocketry at Birla Institute of Technology (BIT), Mesra, inaugurated a two-day national workshop on Rocket Technology, drawing participation from leading scientists, industry professionals, academicians, and students from across the country. The event served as a platform to discuss cutting-edge advancements in aerospace and rocket systems.
The inaugural session featured J.D. Patil, President of the Indian National Academy of Engineering (INAE) and Whole-time Director at L&T Defence, as the Chief Guest. Padma Shri Dr. B.N. Suresh, Honorary Distinguished Professor at ISRO and Chancellor of IIST, graced the event as the Special Guest.
Prof. Indranil Manna, Vice Chancellor of BIT Mesra, welcomed the dignitaries and highlighted the significant contributions of the Department of Space Engineering towards indigenous aerospace development.
Dr. Priyank Kumar, the workshop coordinator, emphasized the theme and objectives of the event, stressing the importance of self-reliance and collaboration in rocket technology. Prof. Sudeep Das, Head of the Department and Registrar, also played a key role in organizing the event.
A notable highlight of the workshop was the participation of students and researchers from various universities and technical institutions, who engaged in direct interactions with domain experts. The day concluded with an interactive session between participants and experts, fostering technical exchange and mentorship opportunities.
