Jamshedpur, Dec 17: Acting on a tip off Bistupur police arrested nine people for illegal gambling in a raid on the playground at Ramdas Bhatta near Dhobi Ghat where a group of men was playing cards.
Two of the men seeing the police coming fled from the scene but altogether nine were arrested.
All of them are also accused of consuming marijuana and charas illegally and this is being seen from last several months, said Bistupur Police Station inspector Awadh Kumar Yadav.
The gang is also active in some of theft incident that have taken place in the area. All are taken into custody and the matter is being investigated, said Yadav.
