Jamshedpur, August 7: Urban Services units organises Inter-centre/Inter Bustee events regularly to prepare budding players for state and national level competitions.
To inculcate a healthy spirit of competitiveness, the Urban Services unit organises sports tournaments that also help the budding players to prepare for performance at state and national level competition.
In its endeavour to encourage young football players, Urban Services, Tata Steel organsied an Inter Bustee Football Tournament yesterday at Bagunhatu Football Ground, Jamshedpur.
The tournament served as a platform for about 88 players among 8 teams, ARGC Bagunhatu, Adivasi Boys Club Babudih bustee, Bir Birsa Club Bahunhatu, Bhuiyadih, Bhalubasa, Junior Star Baridih, Jahertola Baridih, and Gwala bustee.
At the event Bir Birsa Club, Bagunhatu was crowned the winner of the tournament while Gwala Bustee ended up as the runners up. Best Scrorer award went to Pradhan Hasda (Gwala Bustee), Best Goalkeeperfor the tournament was Nayak Bandra (Bir Birsa Club, Bagunhatu) while Manish Parkar (Bir Birsa Club, Bagunhatu) was awarded the best Player of the tournament.
Ranjit Basu, Advisor to MD, Tata Blue Scope graced the occasion as the Chief Guest and M C Sadhu, Consultant, TSPDL as the Guest of Honour for the opening ceremony. Observing the enthusiasm of the young participants who came to exhibit their skills,Ranjit and Sadhu thanked all the participants for making the programme a success.
Ravi Prakash, Plant Head ,CRM Bara graced the occasion as the Chief Guest, and Ashok Kumar Thakur, Sr Manager, HRM CRM (Bara) as the Guest of Honour during the closing ceremony and felicitated the winners.
