Jamshedpur, Aug 1: After cricket icon Mahendra Singh Dhoni, it will perhaps be the next venture on another Jharkhand pride Padma Shri winner Jamuna Tudu that a biopic has been lined up by Bollywood production house, �Village Talkies Production.�
Bollywood film producer director Chilukuri Prasad and script writer Dharmendra Baghel met Jamuna Tudu at her Kakrishole residence in Chakulia to discuss the project with her and take her permission to transform her biopic on celluloid.
Jamuna Tudu has devoted a major part of her life to protecting and nurturing trees. She along with a group of other village women whom she has motivated continues to ensure safety of forests. She had waged a war against wood poachers and timber merchants to protect trees in the forest and she came out successful in that venture. Nicknamed �Lady Tarzan� for her affinity with plants and trees, Jamuna has channelized all her determination to save trees and ensure a green and clean environment. Her untiring efforts and zeal have inspired many men and women who have now taken on the responsibility of protecting trees and planting more saplings on their own or through programmes. The government of India recognized Jamuna Tudu�s relentless devotion towards nature care and awarded her the fourth highest civilian award Padma Shri.
The Mumbai production team got Jamuna Tudu�s assent to make the film which is scheduled to go on the floors by this year end. The film will be shot extensively in Jamuna�s village Muturkham in Chakulia, Ranchi and other locales of Jharkhand.
