Jamshedpur: In a significant breakthrough, the police in Golmuri unearthed a motorcycle theft racket operating near ABM College and arrested three habitual offenders involved in a series of bike theft incidents across the city.
The case came to light following the theft of a motorcycle bearing registration number JH 22D-4333 from the vicinity of ABM College on March 14, after which an FIR was registered at Golmuri Police Station.

During the course of investigation, police scrutinized CCTV footage and identified a suspect, Raja Sardar alias Prakash Sardar (23), who was subsequently taken into custody.
Under sustained interrogation, he confessed to committing multiple thefts along with his accomplices—Sonu Nayak alias Katari (23) and Atul Mundu (24).
Acting on the directives of the Senior Superintendent of Police, a special team was constituted, which conducted a series of raids leading to the arrest of the two other accused.
Based on their disclosure, the police recovered a total of five stolen motorcycles, including four Hero Splendor bikes and one Pulsar 180. Notably, all the recovered vehicles were found without number plates, indicating attempts to conceal their identities.
Police officials stated that all three accused have prior criminal records.
They have been produced before the court and remanded to judicial custody.
Further investigation is underway to ascertain the full extent of the theft network and possible involvement in other cases.
