Bihar-Jharkhand declared first runner-up in CISCE’s National Kho-kho Championship

Jamshedpur: The excitement and fervor of the inaugural CISCE National Boys Kho-kho Championship 2023 reached its pinnacle at the grand closing ceremony, marking the successful culmination of an enthralling sports extravaganza. Organized with sheer enthusiasm and spirited competition, the championship brought together young athletes from across India to celebrate the spirit of Kho-kho. The event was held from November 4 to 6 and hosted by Tarapore School in collaboration with Kerala Samajam Model School and Gulmohur High School.

In a spectacular showcase of sportsmanship, determination, and skill, teams from various regions competed fiercely for the championship titles in different age categories. The championship witnessed thrilling matches, showcasing the exceptional talent and unwavering passion of these young athletes.

In the under-14 Category- Andhra Pradesh and Telangana was declared the winner followed by first runner up Bihar and Jharkhand and 2nd Runner-Up was Karnataka.

In under-17 category Karnataka was the winner, Odisha was first runner up while Andhra Pradesh and Telangana bagged second runner title.

In under-19 Category winners were Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand followed by first runner-up Maharashtra and Goa and second runner- up Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.

The participating teams, hailing from ten different regions, included North India, Northwest, Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand, West Bengal and North East, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, Tamil Nadu, Odisha, Maharashtra and Goa, as well as Bihar and Jharkhand.

The closing ceremony saw the presence of Chief guest, Sujoy Biswas, the CISCE observer, Rajni Shekhar, the Treasurer of the Executive Committee of ASISC, Tarapore School principal Ishita Dey among others.
