Jamshedpur, Sept 3: MP Bidyut Baran Mahto visited the city’s Head Post Office to review the functioning of the Passport Seva Kendra operating within its premises. He interacted with staff, inspected facilities, and learned about the verification and application processes.
Senior Postmaster Shankar Kujur welcomed the MP and briefed him about the center’s services. Prakash Kumar Minz, Assistant Superintendent of the Regional Passport Office and Verification Officer, explained the current arrangements for passport issuance.
Employees and visitors appreciated the MP’s simplicity and his decision to personally check the system. Mahto recalled that the center was established in Jamshedpur in 2017, following efforts of late Foreign Minister Sushma Swaraj, with its inauguration conducted by him.
The MP highlighted how the center had enabled people from both rural and urban areas to access passport services without traveling to Ranchi. He expressed satisfaction over timely delivery of services and assured continued support for public convenience.
Encouraging the staff to work with dedication, he praised their contribution in serving citizens. The visit not only reinforced the relevance of the Passport Seva Kendra but also boosted employee morale. Post office staff described his initiative as inspirational. Mahto affirmed that such people-friendly projects would always remain his priority.
