Jamshedpur: Jamshedpur MP Bidyut Baran Mahato raised various issues pertaining to the railway passengers of his constituency in the Parliament during Zero Hours. He said all railway lines connecting Tatanagar to other parts of the country should be started without delay. He said the railway lines should be expanded up to Jhargram through Chandil, Patamada and Bandwan.
In his address, the MP said the people of his constituency had long been demanding train facilities, especially in the remote areas. He said rail lines should be started in Chakulia, Baharagora and Budamara (Odisha) and double lines should be laid in Tatanagar, Badampahar and Keonjhar (Odisha). His demands were supported by many MPs from West Bengal and Odisha.

After raising the issues in the Lok Sabha, the MP met Railway Board member (traffic) Mohammad Jamshed and demanded that the trains earlier plying on the now-closed Dhanbad-Chandrapur railway line should be plied on alternate routes. He also demanded that the Tatanagar-Chakulia MEMU train should be run on a daily basis. He further demanded expansion of Tatanagar-Ranchi train service up to Ghatsila or Chakulia. Jamshedpur assured to take necessary action after seeking report from the zonal railway headquarters.
