Jamshedpur, April 2: Dedicated classical music and dance platform, Swaranjali of Delhi has organized a two day virtual musical bonanza on April 2 and 3. According to an official of the organization, the two day event entitled, ‘Bhairavi’ has been designed to maintain social peace and harmony through music. The classical concert of music, song and dance will commence from 6 pm on both days.
On Saturday April 3, an array of popular classical vocalists, instrumentalists and danseuses has been lined up to enthrall connoisseurs and general lovers of this genre of presentation.
Among the classical glitterati is Vidushi Krishna Ganguly whose melodious voice executing the intricate vocal nuances has mesmerized listeners. Along with her, Shubham Sarkar of Kolkata will perform on the violin, Subhasish Bose also from Kolkata will present his expertise on the Hans Veena and to cap off the exciting evening, Vidushi Jyoti Srivastav and her disciples from Noida, Sambhavi Mittal and Rahul Varshney will present Odissi dance recitals.
Swaranjali was founded by sitarist Subrata Dey of Jamshedpur. Swaranjali is an art and culture promotion organisation based in New Delhi. It is a platform dedicated to the promotion of Indian music and its budding artistes. One of the major objectives of Swaranjali is to create opportunities for students of the classical expressive forms to learn and exchange exhaustive knowledge in the different geners and disciplines of the classicval musical heritage.

Odissi Music is a very old classical Indian style of music with specific Raagas, Taals, and its own special style of rendering of lyrics and melody. It belongs to the genre of Classical music of India and has its origins in the eastern Indian state of Orissa. Indian Classical Music has five main branches- Avanti, Panchali, Udramagadhi, Hindustani and Carnatic Music. Of these, Udramagadhi exists in the form of Odissi music. Odissi songs traditionally depict the love and frolics of Radha and Lord Krishna. Odissi dance is one of the classical dances of India performed with Odissi music.

Types of Odissi Music cover a rather large spectrum. The various forms of this classical music style include Champu, Chhanda, Chautisa, Geeta Gobinda, Janan and Bhajan.
