Bhagalpur, Dhanbad dominate CISCE Regional Girls’ Volleyball Tournament at DBMS English School

Jamshedpur, Aug 8: The CISCE Regional Volleyball Tournament for Girls, hosted by D.B.M.S. English School on August 7–8, 2025, concluded with Bhagalpur Zone dominating the under-14 and under-17 categories, while Dhanbad Zone claimed victory in the under-19 category. Teams from Jamshedpur, Bhagalpur, Ranchi, and Dhanbad zones competed in three categories—under-14, under-17, and under-19—showcasing exceptional talent and sportsmanship.

The two-day event concluded with the closing ceremony graced by Chief Guest Nandini Shukla, Principal of Kerala Samajam Model School and President of ASISC Bihar–Jharkhand. She addressed the gathering, urging participants to strive for excellence and emphasising the importance of sports in building character and discipline.

Tokens of appreciation were presented to the technical officials for their relentless support by Archana Ramesh, Secretary of the School Managing Committee, and Lalitha Seshadri, Treasurer. Archana Ramesh also presented a memento to the Chief Guest. Vice Principal P.K. Sahu delivered the vote of thanks, acknowledging the efforts of all who contributed to the tournament’s success. The event concluded with the lowering of the CISCE Sports Flag.

In the results, Bhagalpur Zone emerged champions in under-14 and under-17, with Dhanbad Zone as runners-up in both and Ranchi Zone securing third place. In the under-19 category, Dhanbad Zone claimed the title, followed by Bhagalpur Zone in second place and Jamshedpur Zone in third.

The tournament upheld the true spirit of sportsmanship and camaraderie, providing players with an opportunity to compete for coveted honours while fostering a commitment to excellence in sports.
