Jamshedpur: A group of members of the Bengali-speaking community came forward on Thursday to extend their support to Jharkhand Vikas Morcha leader Dr Ajay Kumar in the Parliamentary elections.
Addressing a meeting at the central election office of JVM at Rajasthan Bhavan, Vikas Mukherjee, Vishwajit Mandal, Nepal Das, Satyanarayan Gorai and Narayan Pal announced to support Dr Ajay Kumar. They said they had taken the decision after considering the pros and cons of the present pre-election scenario.
The speakers said the faith of the people had come to an end when it came to governance. People are now looking for an alternative which replaces the National Democratic Alliance and the United Progressive Alliance. In such a situation, Dr Ajay could be a good option for the Jamshedpur constituency, they said.
The speakers further said that the Lok Sabha elections could well prove to be the �semi-finals� for the next year�s Assembly elections in the state. They said they wished for the formation of a government in the state led by the JVM. They said they wanted improvement in the academic activities of Bengali-speaking children of the district. They appealed to all Bengali-speaking people of the city to vote for Dr Ajay Kumar in the forthcoming election.
