Saraikela: Gamharia Block Development Officer (BDO) Thakur Gauri Shankar Sharma inspected several MGNREGA schemes underway to collect update on progress of work.� He visited Bandhdih panchayat to inspect the drain being dug between the cultivating fields of Kanu Mahto and Umesh Mahto in Singhpur village. He also inspected embankment work being carried out for irrigation purposes. Other projects that the BDO inspected was the installation of rain water harvesting at the Panchayat Bhawan and plantation of fruit bearing trees as a part of Birsa Harith Kranti Yojna. Thakur Gauri Shankar Singh ascertained the reasons for the delay in construction of houses under PMAY. During the inspection, two houses were found to have been completed and he instructed the Panchayat Secretary to release the final payment against the two houses constructed. He also instructed that all MGNREGA workers including the migrants who had returned home be provided timely jobs and that it should be ensured that their wages be released on time. He gave clear cut instructions that all eligible for MGNREGA project jobs should be provided work in their own village or panchayat. Mukhiya Parwati Mardi, Panchayat Secretary Salil Samal and Rozgaar Sevak Shankar Sathpathy accompanied the BDO during the inspection tour.
