Baharagora: All posters, banners and hoardings of political parties including those of the central and state governments will have to be removed from public places within 24 hours. This work has commenced at the official level. BDO Lalit Prasad Singh held a meeting today at the Block Office with representatives of political parties to promulgate the Model Code of Conduct as stipulated by the Election Commission with immediate effect. The BDO explained the details of the Model Code of Conduct to the representatives of political parties.
People involved in using the platforms of caste, creed and religion for campaigning or using social media for wrong and derogatory purposes would be dealt with firmly.
The representatives present at the meeting assured of total cooperation to conduct free and fair polls.
Baharagora PS OC Rajdhan Singh, BJP rural district president Chandi Charan Sahu, BJP block president Devdutt Sahu, JMM block president Asit Mishra, JMM central committee member Aditya Pradhan, Ram Chandra Bera of CPI, Swapan Mahto of CPI (M) and Rasbihari Sahu of AJSU were present at the meeting.
