Jamshedpur, June 5: Acting on the complaints against the grave irregularities in Jharkhand State Cricket Association (JSCA), Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) Lokayukta Justice (Retired) AP Shah has urged the BCCI to investigate the matter.
AP Shah directed BCCI president Anurag Thakur, secretary Ajay Shirke, Rahul Johri and Ratnakar Shetty to inquire about the irregularities in JSCA after expelled JSCA member and former Ranji player Jeetu Patel and former Secretary of Ranchi district cricket association Sunil Singh had filed a complaint against JSCA to BCCI Lokayukta.
Though, Lokayukta in his reply to the complainant had said that JSCA election doesn’t come under his jurisdiction and he won’t be able to do anything in this matter.
According to the complaint letter sent to Lokayukta, several matters have been revealed including the ongoing lawsuit against JSCA, along with case registered against secretary Rajesh Verma and president Amitabh Choudhary at various police stations.
There is also a mention of running of country cricket club from JSCA International Stadium in Ranchi and restaurant.
According to the complaint letter, the address of Country Cricket Club given to the registration department is the same of the flat of JSCA vice-president.
It also refers to the utilization of Stadium by JSCA for commercial purpose which is against the lease rules, several manipulation has also been done with the tender process of the stadium. JSCA is also questionable over the black-marketing of the tickets while 38 amendments have been made in the constitution of JSCA. More than 300 life members have been thrown out.
Significantly, Jeetu Patel and Sunil Singh in a letter to AP Shah, Lokayukta of BCCI had urged to set up an independent investigating team to inspect the ongoing irregularities and misuse of the by-laws in JSCA. The duo had informed the Lokayukta that nepotism dominates while selecting the members of JSCA.
