Basti Vikas Samiti launches voters� awareness campaign

Jamshedpur: Basti Vikas Samiti Monday launched an awareness drive for voters by organizing �Jago Matdata Jago� programme at CP Samiti auditorium. The chief guest of the occasion was Dr AK Jha, Proctor, Kolhan University while the special guest was Dr Prasun Dutt Singh, NSS Coordinator of Kolhan University.

In his address, Jha said it was the solemn duty of all adult citizens to cast their vote to elect their choice candidate in the upcoming elections. He said those who do not vote in elections do not have the moral right to question the government and its policies. People should change their mindset and vote without fail, he said.

The special guest said elections should be celebrated as a festival of democracy. He said voting is not merely the right of all citizens but is also their moral duty to elect the most suitable candidate.

Earlier, the guests lit a ceremonial lamp to inaugurate the programme. The event was conducted by Pramjeet Srivastava while a vote of thanks was proposed by Kuldeep Singh Moti.

Among others present during the programme included Rambabu Tiwary, Kamlesh Singh, Boltu Sarkar, Chitra Sahu, Mamata Kapoor, Parvati Devi and Sheelu Sahu.
