Basantotsav cancelled at Tagore Society in view of COVID reemergence

Jamshedpur, March 26: The district’s centre for culture, arts and education, the Tagore Society adorns many feathers in its cap of excellence. One key and much anticipated event among a plethora of others is the Basantotsav celebrations marked by songs and dances on the compositions of The Bard, the iconic World Poet, Rabindranath Tagore. The breathtaking programme was scheduled to be organized by Tagore Society on Sunday, March 28 but due to the reemergence of COVID, the programme has been cancelled.

Tagore Society’s General Secretary Ashis Chowdhury informed, “It is of utmost importance to adhere to COVID protocols as the viral pandemic has once again reared its ugly and threatening head. Under such a situation, the district administration’s directives have to be strictly adhered to. In view of the protective protocols in place, the Basantotsav celebrations scheduled for Sunday, March 28 stands cancelled.”

Ashis Chowdhury urged lovers of Kobi Guru Rabindranath’s poems and songs to savor the delights of the Bard’s brilliance at home and imbibe the moods and colours of his inimitable creativity in mental joy.
