Jamshedpur: As part of the Loyola School’s platinum jubilee celebration, famous quiz master Barry O’Brien will host a quiz contest at Fasy Auditorium, Loyola School on Saturday. A total of 128 students from 36 schools of the city will participate.
Father Pius Fernandes, principal, Loyola School, said that they are happy to play host to Barry O’Brien, who is one of the country’s leading quizmasters, conducting quizzes across the country for schools, colleges and the corporate sector for the last 27 years. It is a proud moment for the school.
O’Brien has conducted over 2500 live quizzes in India, the Middle East, Nepal and Pakistan. He has enthralled quizzing crowds from Pilani to Patna and Powai, Kathmandu to Kharagpur and Karachi, Dubai to Delhi, Guwahati to Goa, and down South. He has conducted several quiz shows on television and radio.
A skilled motivational speaker, he conducts workshops and interactive sessions for Principals, teachers, corporate managers and executives, and students in Business Schools, colleges and professional institutes.
Barry is one of India’s most sought after Master of Ceremonies. He is as comfortable sharing the stage with Shah Rukh Khan, Amitabh Bachchan and N R Narayana Murthy, as he is with fun-loving teenagers and special-needs children fighting the odds.
Moreover, as part of the platinum jubilee celebration, Cyclothon will be organised on August 14. Separate routes have been fixed for senior and junior categories for Cyclothon. The Cyclothon, organised at the Inter-School level, will begin from the basketball court of the school for the junior category. From here it will go towards the DC-SP residence in CH area via Beldih signal. Then going towards the school via Kalibari the cyclothon of about 2.6 km will culminate at the junior school gate. Similarly, the cyclothon for the senior category will start from the Loyola School campus itself. After this, traveling a total of 6 kms from Kadma police station via Dhatkidih to TFA and Center Point School and ending at the school gate. Deputy Commissioner Vijaya Jadhav will flag off the Cyclothon at 7 am. A total of 600 students of Loyola School are participating in it.
