Jamshedpur, May 24: Jharkhand Health Minister Banna Gupta�s intervention in the matter of adjustment of medical bills to the tune of Rs 1.30 lakh was a boon to two families.
In the first case, a resident of Hill View Colony in Dimna, Sita Ram Prasad died in the course of treatment at Brahmanand Hospital. The family could not meet the amount of the bill. On being informed by local leaders, the Health Minister contacted the hospital authorities and directed them to waive the amount of Rs 75, 000 and release the body. Later, the body of the deceased was handed over to the family members.
In another case Pinky Gorai who lives with her husband Dharmu Gorai in Shankosai, give birth to a child in Tata Main Hospital. Being from a financially weak background, the couple could not foot the Rs 95,000 bill of the hospital. Congress leader Om Prakash Singh Guddu informed Banna Gupta who directed the hospital authorities to waive the bill amount as a result of which Rs 55,000 was deducted from the billed amount.
