Pune migrant returning to Chaibasa dies

Chaibasa, May 24: A group of men working in Pune set out on foot for their home in Jhinkpani in Chaibasa when one of them, Vijay Khandait, suddenly fell sick on the way and died. According to reports, the deceased�s body was taken to Wardha Government Hospital for autopsy. The young men had set out on foot from Pune four days earlier. To compound their problems, they are in a fix as to bringing back the body of Vijay Khandait. Vijay died at 6 am on Sunday.

16 labourers had stated out together from Pune for their homes in Jhinkpani on foot as they had no money. The place their employer had terminated their jobs and did not pay them their dues. They were without food for three days. In a video message they sought the help of parliamentarian Gita Koda. She and her husband, former Chief Minister Madhu Koda got in touch with Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren and assured the stranded workers all help.
