Saryu objects to use of excavators at Sonari Domuhani
Jamshedpur, Jan 20: Jamshedpur East MLA Saryu Roy Friday objected to the ongoing beautification work at Sonari Domuhani and registered strong protest.
In a tweet, Roy shared pictures of excavators engaged in leveling work on the riverbank and questioned the authorities under whose permission the excavators were digging the riverbank.
“Which government official or agency is carrying out this illegal act? Who has brought this excavator. A public interest litigation (PIL) (WP PIL 1325/2011) on encroachment of River Swarnarekha is still pending today. I am the intervener in this case,” Roy tweeted.
In another tweet, Roy said, “On reaching Ranchi to attend the Assembly committee meeting, I got information that Minister Banna Gupta has forcibly brought the excavator to dig up the Swarnarekha riverbank. Half a dozen wealthy people of the city have come to his aid. This work is being privately funded and is not a government project.”
