Banna Gupta meets Tabrez Ansari�s wife, condemns lynching

Jamshedpur, June 27: District Congress leaders staged a demonstration before Jamshedpur Collectorate to protest against the recent incident of mob lynching witnessed in Dhatkidih village of Seraikela.

Leading the agitation, former MLA Banna Gupta said mob lynching was a despicable act and it deserved no better treatment than strictest punishment. He said those taking the law in their hands and spreading religious hatred should be arrested and prosecuted without fail. He said the victims of Dhatkidih mob lynching incident should be provided security and a financial help of Rs 50 lakh by the state government.

Blaming the state government and Seraikela-Kharsawan district administration, he also demanded speedy trial against the culprits and measures to stop repetition of the incident.

Gupta also met the widow of Tabrez Ansari who was lynched in Dhatkidih and gave her Rs 2,01100 as ex gratia help.
